Storm Photography Workshop

This workshop is suitable for beginner photographers and/or those who want to be able to learn how to use their existing skills to get images of storms and lightning also.

We kick off at 9am at the WILDFOTO Gallery and should be finished around midday.    You're welcome to arrive at 8.30am to beat the morning coffee order etc :)

The first part of the workshop is just to learn about basic photography settings and concepts.  We'll then have a smoko break and then apply this knowledge to capturing storms and lightning - and also other twilight and night photography such as astro.

Please note the workshop is not about "storm chasing" but just how to capture lightning and storms from a safe distance.  Our beautiful TopEnd Storms look great even a safe 20km away out on the floodplains or out over the sea.

A camera that can be controlled manually and a tripod are required to take storm photos although you won't need it at the workshop unless you want a few pointers on it.  Even many smart phones can have apps that enable you to have the necessary control over the camera.

Great coffee, scones, cakes, mango smoothies etc are available at the WILDFOTO gallery/cafe also!
